More litter photos

And they come in all sizes, all colors, and in all places, good, bad or inexplicable.

Litter in downtown Asheville!

One of my pet peeves about my hometown, Asheville, NC, is that there seems to be no controlling this LITTER around the city.

These paper boxes LITTER our sidewalks at every turn. You'd think city council would wake up to this one day. Maybe when some organization chains one to their desk they will take note.

Go ahead, start screaming now about freedom of the press! What about your responsibility to your community? Other cities have neat, uniform boxes that display numerous publications on the box. And you can see a very few of them around town.

These eyesores LITTER the town to the number of well over 100.
Im' thinking the city council is missing a great revenue source. How about charging EACH box owner $25 a week to put their box on the street?

Orchids at our Fresh Market

These were in the front of the store, near the check outs.
Really beautiful, but bet I could trash 'em in a week!

They were really pretty, but I have no green thumb!

And it was most pleasant seeing them there. A lot of folks stopped just to admire the beauty.

A Little More Snow Last Night

No traffic UP or down Spruce!

The predictions were for 10-12. At least in downtown that looks more like 3-5, depending on where you are standing! Did open the store-and got some foot traffic. Will be a hotel store tonight.

BEWARE THE EVIL CAT!!!
"Hairy" chases his ribbon toy.

Hairy seeing red.

Had a little snow last week. BUT, today, January 27, beautiful day, almost 60 degrees, massive sunshine---the quiet before the storm-you know, the one in the Texas panhandle that is dumping a foot or more on them - it's headed our way with love and 6-10 inches of snow for us, and maybe some sleet first!!!
Bring it.

The Gypsy Queen

Meet Chef Suzy Phillips! A Lebanese chef who moonlights as the best breakfast/lunch waitress at the Corner Kitchen in Biltmore Village. Suzy is going to open her own Lebanese deli/market (Zeytoon) soon. We can hardly wait. But will she teach me how to cook in my tangine?? Married to Gabriel Shaffer, artist extraordinaire. See article in Bold at www.boldlife.com, type in Chef Suzy in search.

Founder's Scottish Ale

Was in Atlanta this past weekend, and, as usual, at The Brick Store in Decatur. Bar tender suggested Founder's Dirty Bastard, a Scottish Ale, and by far the best I have ever had. A high gravity beer that is so smooth and creamy-left 5 Seasons Brew Pub the next night to go back to The Brick Store to have another; well, maybe two.

Had a snow event last weekend. Up on the mountain, somewhere between 12-15 inches. Sure was pretty, but we sure were here for a couple of days!
